Some of you already know that last Saturday evening, May 21, the 
American Birding Association's Chandler Robbins Award for 
contributions to education and conservation was presented to Dr. 
Donald Messersmith of Silver Spring, MD.  The award was formally 
given to Don by ABA Board Chair Lou Morrell at the MOS annual 
conference in McHenry, MD.

Chan Robbins and lots of Don's friends and associates were present 
for the award ceremony.

I'm sure that many of you who were not able to be present will want 
to join with those of us who were lucky enough to be there in sending
