Observation start time: 08:15:00 EST
Observation end time: 14:30:00 EST
Total observation time: 6.25 hours

Official Counter: Sue Ricciardi

Observers: Hal Wierenga, Jackie Cooper, John Hoffman

Visitors:
Leslie Starr; Joe Turner

Weather:
Partly cloudy; 78-91 degrees; poor to fair visibility with haze; winds
mostly with a southerly component, 3-9 mph

Raptor Observations:
Five Mississippi Kites, one unaged at 10:52 am daylight time and four
together at 2:27 pm: one adult, one subadult, two unaged. The old record
of 11 Mississippi Kites in one season (2001) was broken today as our total
now stands at 14. Four Mississippi Kites flying together in one group is
unprecedented, although on May 23, 2001, five were observed flying by in
quick succession. The daily record is six on that same date. One of the
Bald Eagles was a juvenile.

Non-raptor Observations:
