My brother has a small dog that he puts in a cage that has a tray in the bottom which he sits outside. This morning I brought the dog in and left the door of the cage open. The cage sits on a slant as Tobby likes to pee in the one corner and his water dish sits at the other end in the opposite corner. Well a grackle went in the cage and checked out the water but did not drink it but did drink the pee. Then a second grackle, a new baby enters the cage and does the same thing as the other bird. Why would they turn down fresh water for bodily fluid?

On another note, my two year old grandson is now learning the calls of birds and has five of them down with no problem. When he does the blue jay you can't help but laugh. Chris Ordiway(my son) is doing a great job teaching him and yesterday we got to enjoy many birds in my backyard.

Happy Birding and have a fun and safe weekend.
