OK, they're not birds but they have wings. I was out doing streams today at SERC 
and noticed something odd about a standing dead stump. There was a swarm of bugs 
above it. I grabbed the work camera and flipped it over to video. The camera is 
old so the quality isn't great but it was really something! The termites were 
crawling up out of the dead stump and when they got to the top, they took off. 
Shortly after I stopped shooting, it tapered to almost no bugs at all. Timing is 
everything!
