I finally found this bird after three tries. Thanks to Joe Hanfman for his
report from earlier this morning (Joe had an adult and an immature bird). I
found the adult at 7:30 a.m. on the north side in a willow adjacent to the
exposed rock in the middle of the lake. The path turns sharply lake-ward
here. The bird was 15 feet from the path allowing superb photo opp.
Residents walking by say it visits this spot often. Bird exhibited
nest-building behavior as it carried sticks around most of the time. No sign
of the immature bird but I couldn't stay long and make a thorough search of
the entire shoreline. Photos available at:
