I predict we will be seeing a LOT more BB Whistling Ducks in future years. 
We were in Texas in March and the population of this species there has 
exploded! We saw 100s together all over the Gulf Coast and Lower Rio 
Grand Valley. The contrast with just a few years ago (2005) was amazing. 
In contrast, we only saw 5 Fulvous Whistling Ducks the whole week. 

Looking at the hoard of BBWD it is no surprise that flocks of this species 
are now being regularly reported from the east coast and upper midwest.

They are coming...and in some cases, they are here already...!
