I use MyBirdObservations which is about $2.99. It is kind of clunky
but I like that I can e-mail myself a file that I can directly import
into eBird. Some of the "clunkiness" is that you have to use "filters"
to get at a list that is appropriate and it only gets you to the US
level so I have to scroll past species from Hawaii and Alaskan
vagrants. It also uses "odd" common names (e.g. When I enter "Yellow
Warbler" it shows up on the list as "Mangrove Warbler").

Again the importable file is enough of a plus that I can overlook the
other stuff but I'm interested in what others are using. I also use
"BirdsEye" but it doesn't have the import features. It does have great
features for finding birds that have been seen at hotspots in an area
(very useful for birding in unfamiliar territory).

++++
BTW I just added eBird functionality to Western MD Birding
http://www.westernmdbirding.com/ ... just go there and click Allegany
or Garrett to get a site guide for one of those 2 counties, choose a
location (by clicking the link) and note the two form controls on the
bottom of the page. Try entering a small distance to start with (data
from the recent MOS conference should show up if you go back more than
10 days or so).
