Today, while birding on my lunch break, I observed an adult Yellow-crowned
Night-Heron flying over the Anacostia River at Bladensburg Waterfront Park.
It appeared to have been flushed from a tree by a passing CSX train. This
species is a much better bird in the county as a whole than it is in the
metro/Anacostia/Sligo Creek region. A nice reprieve from the work day!
