Thanks to Jim Brighton for the post about the Old Skipton Rd WAVI in
Talbot County. And thank you to Mark Schilling for the discovery!

The vireo was present around 11AM, as was Les Roslund. We heard only
a few scolding calls from the Sycamores that hang directly over the
road, the trunks of said trees are on the North (or is it East?) side
of the road. Unfortunately, we had no definitive views of the bird
(so we called it a vireo sp.). Les told me about a nice diary farm
just down the road that I should keep in mind for future blackbird
searches. Thanks Les! I went to check it out and then quickly
returned to the WAVI spot for one more listen. The Warbling Vireo
was, this time, easily viewable on some exposed limbs. I saw it with
food (or possibly even a fecal sac), in it's bill, slowly making its
way through the canopy.

Note: the bird did not utter one note of it's jubilant song during my
brief visit, and Les told me he was present for about 30 minutes prior
to my arrival. He experienced the same silence.

A great bird all the same!

Good Birding,

Dan
