This morning I got good views of one of the Yellow-throated Warblers that continue at Schoolhouse Pond. I've heard the male singing along the backside of the pond several times over the last month, but had been unable to spot them. However, today I saw one of the birds (I believe there are at least two) foraging and singing high atop one of the sycamores that lines the small creek (Federal Branch) that runs along the backside of Schoolhouse Pond. I first spotted a Yellow-throated Warbler at this location on April 20 and have continued to see and/or hear them periodically since that time. Of course, in April I posted that I had seen two Yellow-throated Warblers mating near this spotted, so this has been a nice development at the pond as this species had never before been more than a rare migrant here, at least in my experience.

Good birding,
