I have been enjoying my yardbirds lately especially watching the hummingbird wars. It is cool to stand on my deck and have them zooming all around me. My hummer feeders empty quickly now.

This mornings birds were the Ruby Throated Hummers, a few Brownheaded cowbirds, Bluejays, Cardinals, lots of Chipping Sparrows, Goldfinches and Titmouse. I can hear a Red Eye Vireo and a Northern Parula nearby. Also a flyover of the adult Great blue heron and some Turley Vultures.

I posted a video on youtube of the sounds coming from the GB Heron nest. When the parent flies back to the nest there seems to be almost a fight between the juvies. I have located the nest one day after we had a bad storm. I was worried if they had made it thru the storm with the heavy winds and rain. But, I as happy to hear their loud clucking noises and hear them fighting with each other.
