Hi Folks,

I just talked to my friend Charlie Kucera who was at Swan Creek this morning
with about six or seven other people.  He said that the Black Rail was not
heard between about 8:30 a.m. and noon.  He also noted that the tide was
quite high, and that the wetland appeared to be more flooded than usual.
This may have an impact on the rail's movements.  Since details on this
sighting have now been posted to the listserve, all reports, positive or
negative, would be appreciated in this forum.

Ed Carlson did an evening survey of the property yesterday, and did not hear
the rail then, either.  He said from all appearances, one of the
Black-necked Stilts in the north cell is sitting on a nest.
