Folks

 

I originally offered to donate $1000 reward to Dave Brinker of DNR.  I stand by that offer no matter who sets up a reward program.  If it is through MOS it could be a tax deduction, but not necessary.  The idea is to have enough money so that someone rats on this idiot, and we can hopefully help educate others of the shame of this act, and the to protect the animals.  

 

Maybe a ban on hunting in areas where Goshawks are known to breed during breeding season.  That might get the hunters attention.  Let them step forward and support this reward program as well.  This is a huge black eye for responsible hunters.  The MD Sport’sman’s Caucus Association may have put up $1000 as well.  If so, we could partner w/ them.  Interesting bed buddies.

 

I also think a short note could be put in the Yellowthroat.  I could provide pictures of Goshawk and Cooper’s hawks that might help educate.  I have a Cooper’s Hawk feeding in my yard, not a Goshawk.  Take a look at my website for some images that could be used so people know the difference.

 

If Norm and MOS does not mind this should be put on the list serve to help get support and educate.  Maybe it should also be Bird of the Month for ABC.
