Hey everyone,

Yesterday, Jared Satchell and I made a western shore Dickcissel /
field bird run. Before I start giving the run down I would like to
thank everyone who has reported Dickcissels on Osprey and in ebird.
It made our day a lot less stressful.

Anne Arundel -- Renditions Golf Course -- 7:00am

Dickcissel -- 1 bird singing
Field Sparrow -- 3
Grasshopper Sparrow -- 4
Blue Grosbeak -- 4
Eastern Meadowlark -- 1

Charles -- Swarey Place off of Rt 6 -- 8:45am

Dickcissel -- 1 bird singing
Grasshopper Sparrow -- 4
Eastern Meadowlark -- 3
Blue Grosbeak -- 1
We searched for the Mississippi Kite on Dubois Rd without any luck.

Prince George's -- Mellwood Rd -- 10:05am

Dickcissel -- 1 bird singing
Grasshopper Sparrow -- 2
Blue Grosbeak -- 1
Eastern Meadowlark -- 2

Montgomery -- Westerly Rd -- 11:30am

Dickcissel -- 2 birds singing
Grasshopper Sparrow -- 3
Vesper Sparrow -- 2 birds singing
On Old Baltimore Rd and Edwards Ferry Rd we also had singing
Grasshopper Sparrows

Frederick -- Bollinger School Rd -- 12:43pm

Dickcissel -- 1 singing male in the last field before the Pennsylvania line
Grasshopper Sparrow -- 1
Field Sparrow -- 4
Vesper Sparrow -- 1

Carroll -- Bullfrog Rd -- 1:10pm

Dickcissel -- 2 singing birds
Grasshopper Sparrow -- 2

Adams County (Pennsylvania) -- 1:57pm

Dickcissel -- 2 singing males
Vesper Sparrow -- 1
Eastern Meadowlark -- 1

Washington County -- Chewsville Rd -- 3:25pm

Grasshopper Sparrow -- 3
Vesper Sparrow -- 1
We searched the road for about 20 minutes without finding any
Dickcissels and then the thunderstorms hit.

Washington County -- Sharpsburg Battlefield area -- 4:40

Field Sparrow -- 2
Grasshopper Sparrow -- 1
Blue Grosbeak -- 1
With lots of suitable habitat, we still failed in finding any
Dickcissels on the battlefield. The storms were still giving us
problems. We ended up leaving Washington County without seeing any
Dickcissels. It would be our only county Dickcissel miss of the day.

Jefferson County (West Virginia) -- Haversack Circle (unfinished
housing development off of Rt 340 near Charlestown) -- 6:05pm

Dickcissel -- 1 bird singing
Grasshopper Sparrow -- 1
Eastern Meadowlark -- 1

Loudoun County (Virginia) -- Loyalty Rd north of Stumptown Rd -- 7:30pm

Dickcissel -- 1 bird singing on power line
Field Sparrow -- 1
Grasshopper Sparrow -- 1
Blue Grosbeak -- 1
Eastern Meadowlark -- 1
