I birded the Howard Conservancy this morning. The CHATS are still singing vigorously. Fledglings everywhere....with sparrows you can have some tricky babies....not looking quite like adults....here’s a little puzzler with its streaky breast.

Chipping sparrows and Grasshopper sparrows also have streaked breasts for a short time. Both are also nesting at the Conservancy. I had a great morning with butterflies there.....an American Copper and Black Swallowtail were special.

I also birded/hiked Rockburn. There were two BARRED OWLS along the stream by the bridge leading to the “haunted house”. A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was singing by the “kudzu” field.
