Early this morning I took a walk on the opposite side of my street on the fireroad heading toward Gunpowder Rd. It is the fireroad closest to my house.

I always thought the birds were quite in the summer months after nesting. But the woods were alive with all kinds of birdie sounds. Mostly ones I recognize now. There is one sounds throwing me off. I recorded the sounds on my camera and have another youtube video of just sounds. I can hear the Wood Thrush and a flycatcher I believe is making a sound similiar to what I think sounds like the word "wheat" it is pretty loud on my video if someone can help me id this sound.

The woodthrush was heard when I got closer to the tall pine trees closer to Gunpowder Rd.

I did get to see a young RedBellied woodie and family along the trail. It's head was all white. The Pileateds were very vocal too, lots of Red Eyed Vireos, Scarlet Tanagers and White Breasted Nuthatches were plentiful.
