Montgomery County: Dickcissel; Little Blue Heron

A friend and I walked  up river on the C&O Canal tow path this morning from
Pennyfield:  It was mostly quiet; best bird was an immature Little Blue
Heron in the the wetlands area on the left as you walk up.  It was not shy
and easy to see.  We later found nothing at Hughes Hollow and so went up to
Westerly Rd, near Poolesville, where we found one loudly and persistently
singing Dickcissel.  It was in the big very leafy tree on the right  before
the two driveway, going west.   We never did see the bird, but the song was
for sure.
