Re: Upland Sandpipers at Salisbury Airport, Great Cormorant at Skimmer Island

All,

I counted three Uplands this Friday morning...and they were not easy to
find, taking almost 30 minutes to locate. From the picnic tables near the
terminal, they were to the extreme right of the airfield, near the aviation
fueling facility and the large flat green warehouse off in the distance.
This is a very long distance to look. If the birds stay in that area of the
airfield, it may be easier to see them from the Shell Aviation fueling
building to the south rather than from the terminal. Afterward, I drove down
there and parked with no problem but checked in at the front desk first. The
folks there were very nice.

I also had the Great Cormorant at Skimmer Island in the afternoon. I did not
locate the White-rumped Sandpiper reported at Truitt's Landing yesterday.
There were a ton of birds south of the road but way off in the distance and
the shimmer was ridiculous, making most ID's impossible (I was there around
noontime).
