I recall the time many years ago when I was working at Yellowstone: a Clark's Nutcracker hit a window; I placed the stunned bird in a box and let it go once it recovered. I mentioned this the next day to a ranger who proceeded to lecture me with mechanical talking points having to do with...letting nature alone. By the way, if you look at the voting option next to the girl's story, you may find the wording of the "no" option interesting.
