Hi Michael & Dave:

Several replaces that have been reliable in the past are Blue Mash, Needwood
Lake and the turf farm that MUST be accessed via the C & O Canal.

Blue Mash has two different ponds. The smaller of the two ponds was almost
completely dry several weeks ago so may have some water in it but still
plenty of mudflats after today's rain.

Needwood Lake was either recently drained or very low in water several weeks
ago. The turf farm I mentioned is along River Road beyond the intersection
of Willard Road. It is private property and they do NOT allow birders to
have access. One must park at the end of Sycamore Landing Road and walk
upstream about a half mile. You must look for a vantage point between the
trees and look across the canal into the turf farm wherever you can. A scope
would pretty much be required here.

Several other places worth checking are the intersection of Montivideo and
Sugarland Roads if there is any wet area in the corn stubble; The Polo
Grounds along Hughes Road; and lastly the Patton Turf Farm which is along
River Road extended south of White's Ferry.
