Evening all,

A typical summer storm rolled in, so I cruised out to Sandy Point SP,
arriving just as it had passed the beach. I got out the car as the
last drop of rain landed. A double rainbow stretched all the way from
the Bay Bridge to the famous light house.

Birds of note:
4 Short-billed Dowitchers flying South
2 Willet (Western, I believe) on the beach.
4 Least Sandpipers on the jetty.

The gulls were plentiful. The Peregrine dried on the top of the pier
on the West-bound span. The Forster's and Royals flew up and down the
bay. As for the gulls, it was by far the most I've observed here all
summer. That said, all it took was one flyover by the local Bald
Eagle and nearly every last gull dispersed, taking to the safety of
the sky.

Good Birding,
