I passed the posts about the Upland Sandpipers in Frederick Co on to a few people who bird in Loudoun Co (a county in that state just below the Potomac that many of you won't name).

This morning Mary Ann Good tried for them and asked that I post the following email:
"Excited to find these birds, which are one of my most-desired lifers, I drove up this morning from Loudoun County across the river, and easily found the birds!  They seem not to have moved from the spot where Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper reported them, although I only found 5, maybe 6.  The views were splendid, the best, as she said, from Rt. 85--they were about halfway down the short-grass field between the middle two of the four large yellow posts and not far back.  What cool birds, raising their heads to look around with that quizzical expression.  Thanks to the finders!"
