This morning around 7 AM I found a Dowitcher (I'd guess Short-billed but couldn't swear to it because I wasn't close enough to see much detail, even with my scope) in the pond on the west side of Aldino Rd. across from the BGE substation just south of the intersection with Rte. 155 and just north of the cemetery. The bird was loosely keeping company with two Greater Yellowlegs along the northwest edge of the pond-the far side from the road. I set up my scope at the entrance to the substation across Aldino Rd. There were also several Killdeer and at least two Semipalmated Sandpipers in the same area. I have a couple very distant images of the Dowitcher-only enough detail to see the buffy/orange breast and to say it's a Dowitcher. I'll post them to my flicker page later. We've had a humongous thunder storm in the last hour, so I'm not sure if the bird would have moved by now.
