Did some birding in Cecil Co. this morning and the highlight was a
juvenile GLOSSY IBIS at Courthouse Point WMA. It was in the pond on the
left of the trail that leads to the left from the parking lot. The only
other county eBird record this year is from May. The pond is in the
process of drying up and there were also 30+ Great Egrets there, and a
smattering of the more common shorebirds (LESSER YELLOWLEGS, LEAST,
SPOTTIES, and SOLITARY SANDPIPERS). Looks like good habitat though and
bears watching for some more unusual stuff.

Also checked Bethel WMA. There were more shorebirds there. In addition
to the 4 species just mentioned there were SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS and
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS. A few BANK SWALLOWS were also present. (Just a
reminder that entrance to the Cecil WMAs requires a free permit).

Lots of SWALLOWS and MARTINS about in both areas staging for migration.
I also briefly checked Conowingo Dam and there must have been at least
1000 swallow sp. there.

Good birding!
