We stopped at the Noth Beach marsh at ~ 5:30 pm, en route home and w/o a scope. Water was high, but many peep still huddled on the near-vanished island. Whatever # I counted was superseded when a raptor (pr COHA) flew past and put up at least ~500, many having been hidden in the grass. W/o a scope I could not further pin down ID's beyond "peep" for any of them. With them also a Willet - unusual and our first here - and a Gr Y'legs. The complete list:
Gr Blue Heron 4
Gr Egret 0
Snowy Egret 3 (#'s way down)
"peep" ~500
Willet 1
Gr Y'legs 1
Forster's Tern 4 (#'s way down)
