Hi all --

Things are still "not quite on" for migration -- at least as regards
warblers
-- but we did manage to scrape up a few interesting birds today at this
Montgomery Co. site. Actually the Gradens had the most overall activity as
ripening berries are drawing lots of catbirds, robins and a scattering of
more exciting species.

Birds of interest:

Green Heron - 5
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT HERON - 1 adult, fly-over
Great Blue Heron - 1
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - 5
Northern Flicker - 6-8
Pileated Woodpecker - 1
Yellow-billed Cuckoo - 1 (heard only)
Eastern Wood-pewee - 4
Great Crested Flycatcher - 5
Acadian Flycatcher - 2 (1 a bright first-fall bird)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 12 (lots about, this might be underestimate)
Red-eyed Vireo - 15
House Wren -- 1 still feeding that late brood
CANADA WARBLER - 1 immature
Chestnut-sided Warbler - 1 immature
SCARLET TANAGER - 2 (male & female together)
Eastern Towhee - 4 including one recently fledged w/ dad
Baltimore Oriole - 4

Plus lots of Robins, Catbirds and a few of the "usual suspects" about.
