To all:

You can always try out another's / those you bird with, or you run into on a
trip or just meet chasing a bird. Most people have no problem letting you
handle their glasses.

A really good place is at any hawk watch site as you are usually there a
decent span of time and often you are sitting on a rock next to many others,
so you can swap bins and try out quite a few brands, types, powers, etc.
Some people bring multiple pairs to a hawk watch site and I have used
other's all day long on occasion.

Many on-line sites will take them back if you do not like them with some
time frame, 30 days maybe. Some brick and mortars will let you use them a
while too and bring them back. CMBO (Cape May Bird Obseratory) will (or at
least still did two years ago) let you select a pair and use them for the
weekend or a couple of days and come back and buy them or just return them.
This gives you an opportunity to use them in the field in the many venues
Cape May has to offer.

The Lost Creek Shoe Store in PA, the town escapes me at the moment, carries
all the top brands and has an area set up out behind the store where you can
check all of the out. Many people come there from nearby states. They are
extremely knowledgeable on the subject to include scopes.
