Irene blew in a new male hummer on Sunday, one with a brilliant orange
throat. The orange color was if anything a brighter, slightly lighter, orange
than a Baltimore oriole, and when the light was right, was so shiny it was
not likely a case of a worn red throat.
A quick search on orange throated ruby throats turns up a couple of Sibley
pages:

Unfortunately, I have not been able to get a good photo.
