Hi Everyone,

This morning (1 Sep 2011) a White-faced Ibis was in a very large group of egrets, herons, Glossy Ibis, Laughing Gulls, and yellowlegs at the end of the Life of the Forest trail at Assateague National Seashore. The bright red eyes of the White-faced Ibis jumped out as I was working through the flock.

Migrants passing through Bayside earlier in the morning included:

Northern Waterthrush 1
Black-and-white Warbler 1
American Redstart 8
Yellow Warbler 3
Black-throated Blue Warbler 1
Dickcissel 1
Bobolink 12
Baltimore Oriole 5

The MD side of Assateague appears to be in great shape. The parking lots for South Beach are currently closed, but I didn't notice any other closures. Lots of visitors; plenty of campers in the Bayside Campground.

Have fun,

Ron Gutberlet
