Sorry for a tardy post. Yesterday (Sunday) afternoon we refound the shorebirds in Morgantown, Charles County, previously reported by John Hubbell and Ron Gutberlet. We first scoped the pond and surrounding fields, finding most of the species they saw, but did not see the Buff-breasted there. We then went back to Morgantown Road and looked across the bare field. The BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was with a large group of KILLDEER. Also in the group were six SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, two SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, four PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, and one RUDDY TURNSTONE, all of which except the Buff-breasted we had seen by the pond earlier. Also present around the pond were six SPOTTED SANDPIPERS.
