The birds all must've left last night. It was quiet at home. Quiet
at the park. Quiet all over. Best bird was a chipping Brown Thrasher,
one Magnolia Warbler and one Lesser Yellowlegs. On a positive note,
the massive trash and debris field looked to be a bit less today, but
the smell of sewage still lingered.
Back at home in Amberley, two Ruby-throated Hummingbirds were present
for Breakfast, but have since been absent all day.
Huge congratulations to Bob Ringler for finding a Wilson's Plover in
NJ. Now, someone go find Bob and relocate him, pronto, to
Assateague... please. ; )
Lastly, two questions:
-Yesterday evening, two hummingbirds, one large and one small, sat
side-by-side, peacefully perched separated by mere inches. After
years of battling it out over my feeders, is it possible that these
hummingbirds have called a truce? Has anyone else observed this
behavior?
-When rarities migrating East meet up in the night skies with birds
migrating South, do they say excuse me?
Good Birding,
