Nice Pete! Was it a new yard species? Is the Eupatorium that late flowering species of what looks like a sedum which is now in flower? If so, I have a small patch I planted a few yaers ago for butterflies, so will have to keep a closer eye on it.
Pays to be home more...

Subject: [MDOSPREY] Double dose of CMWA in Jessup, 9/13
Hi everyone,
Yesterday, Monday, 9/12 in the late afternoon in my Jessup yard I had a fall
lumaged adult male Cape May Warbler. It was foraging in a large 4 foot patch
f Eupatorium serotinum I had planted in my yard earlier this summer.
asioally, I planted the Eupatorium because it attracts MANY insects which can
nclude butterflies, moths, bees, wasps, beetles, etc. It has been a great
lant for this purpose, and, seeing the Cape May glean insects from the
nderside of the leaves was really neat to watch!
Now, on to today, Tuesday, 9/13. I got home late in the afternoon and was
orking on closing my pool, which is very close to the Eupatorium patch. All of
sudden I see the plants shaking and then I see the Cape May again! Today made
or some incredible viewing because I was only about 6 feet from the plants and
ould really see a lot of detail of the bird. It stayed in the patch for over
0 minutes, then flew off to the back woods.
