Returning home from a trip to Bombay Hook (post coming soon on DE Birds), I couldn't help but notice a huge cloud of CHIMNEY SWIFTS as I emerged from the Jenifer Street metro exit.  Rushing to get home, I couldn't stop to attempt a systematic count, but there were many hundreds, and I could easily believe 1,000.  They were circling the chimney of the Metro bus garage, as in past years, but the flock was a bit larger than I remember seeing in the past.
