Hi All,

Some might find these "documentation"  photos interesting - especially in light of possible hybrid birds in the area:

#1:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/27721024@N05/6152774909/

#2:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/27721024@N05/6153319200/

There was some question whether the bird was a Brewster's hybrid due to the yellow wing-bars (vs. a patch), but they're typical of female birds and especially so for 1st fall birds.  Also, I read in Peterson's Warbler book that the dark lores, cheeks and throat patch are recessive genes that are not expressed in the Brewster's hybrid.  Luckily, photo # 2 demonstrates the dark throat patch, and the gray face pattern is visible in Photo #1.

I wish the bird was a fall adult that had bolder colors, but I'll take a healthy, but dull Golden-winged Warbler any day over a hybrid!

Also of note this morning at Ft. DuPont in DC were 12 Turkey, seen in the
grass field just off the main parking lot at the southwest end of the park.
Turkey have been fairly regularly seen at Ft. DuPont over the past year,
and it seems that they have firmly established themselves there.
