This morning I birded Eastern Neck NWR for a few hours. The pickings were slim on the refuge as very few migrants were around. So I was pretty psyched to find two adult Red-headed Woodpeckers. The first was feeding on acorns along the Box Point trail, there are many pine trees down just before the thick stand of Holly trees and it was flying back and forth in this area. The second individual was in the area of snags along the main road that are ~1/4 before the turn off for Bogle's Wharf.
