Today we had a great trip to Poplar Island, organized by Kevin Graff. Ron
Gutberlet was kept quite busy as our official counter.
There were so many highlights and very good counts that I recommend that you
look at the entire list below. A few of the special birds included
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, BROAD-WINGED HAWK, COMMON GALLINULE, HUDSONIAN
GODWIT (8), and MARBLED GODWIT.

Before the trip afew of us saw a Red-headed Woodpecker at Black Walnut
Point. The hen Red-breasted Merganser, that has been around the Knapps
Drawbridge all summer, was seen on a lawn acorss from the boat dock at
Chicken Point Rd.
