  concerning the dedication of a DNR - State Wildlife Management area
for woodcocks in Garrett County for Aelred Geis who died in 2007 at age 78.
I had not heard before the story of how he was the naturalist who "badgered
Jim Rouse to set aside 1,000 acres of prime Howard County real estate"
which became the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area.

I had not heard of him before but he sounds like an interesting and  
effective
birder.  Perhaps others may have memories to share of him . . .
