The 6th Annual Schoolhouse Pond Big Sit will be tomorrow from dawn to dusk. The Marlboro Flaming County Seaters will be stationed at the observation platform located along the trail at the rear of Schoolhouse Pond. We've had good counts in the past, typically having species totals ranging from the low to mid-60's. Feel free to join us for the whole day or just an hour or two. The weather is supposed to be great and hopefully we will have a good variety of birds during the day. As I've posted over the last week, a few migrant warblers are still turning up and the wintering birds have begun to return. Gulls are also starting to fly over in large numbers again and occasionally groups are setting down on the pond to allow closer inspection. And, the trail around the pond has been cleared of debris and sediment left from last month's floods, so getting to the observation platform will be no problem. Hope to see you tomorrow.
