Please find attached an email from Ed Sigda to me, related to his observation of a Masked Booby near Baltimore Canyon today. This would be the first state record. Congratulations to Ed and Mike Fritz!!

Mark,
Mike and I were offshore yesterday and had a Masked Booby near the 50
line just west of the Baltimore Canyon. Unfortunately no photos were
taken as Mike and I were up in the tower, but Mike did write up field
notes. Other birds were two Northern Fulmars (1 dark and 1 light), 160
Great Shearwaters, 1 Cory's, 3 Red Phalaropes, 2 Cape May Warblers, a
Bobolink, and about 12 deceased Northern Flickers.
At one point while we were between the 40 and 50 lines we had a constant
stream of Great Shearwaters going by us. We counted over 80 in about 10
minutes. The birds were heading northwest. This is the second time
that we have been out there in October where we have seen the stream of
birds like yesterday.
This would have been a great weekend to have been offshore.
Ed
