Hi All,
The Kent County Bird Club will conduct a trip to Kent Island focusing on
Terrapin Point Park just north of the east foot of the Bay Bridge (with
likely branching out to other places in the area). This small park on
the Bay has a good trail system featuring bay shores, thickets, small
wooded areas, and marshy ponds. It can be a good place for migrants of
many kinds including water birds on the bay and on the ponds, and late
season warblers, kinglets, and sparrows in the thickets and woods.
Raptors may also be cruising over or hunting for the songbirds. We
anticipate this will be a full day outing so bring a lunch, dress in
layers (it's autumn), with sturdy walking shoes recommended for trail
walking. We will meet folks coming from Kent County at the Dollar
General parking lot between Washington Ave and Philosopher's Terrace in
Chestertown at 8:00 AM. People wishing to meet us on Kent Island should
contact us ahead of time, by e-mail or phone (410-778-9568).
Good birding,
Nancy Martin & Walter Ellison

Observing Nature is like unwrapping a big pile of presents every time
you take a walk.
