Hi all,
I was briefly (3:45- 4:45) in Patterson Park this afternoon despite the chilly wind. I can't say I saw much, but I did see more that I thought I would given the conditions. The highlights were a pair of very close (less than 5 ft) looks at a pair of American Coots, an extremely handsome male Black Duck, and a nice juvenile White-crowned Sparrow. The full list follows.

Great-blue Heron 1
Black-crowned Heron 1
Mallard 37
American Black Duck 1
Merlin 1
Ring-billed Gull 6
Herring Gull 3
Mourning Dove 13
Rock Pigeon 15
Eastern Phoebe 1
American Crow 2
House Wren 1
Winter Wren 1
American Robin 7
Brown Thrasher 1
Cedar Waxwing 8
White-throated Sparrow 5
White-crowned Sparrow 1
Fox Sparrow 1
Song Sparrow 2 (one notably dark individual; sooty back and smudgy flanks)
Swamp Sparrow 1

Good Birding!
