I had a good morning walk at Schoolhouse Pond this morning, with the highlight being the continuing Little Blue Heron. The heron has now been at the pond for at least eight days now. Also of note was a large flyover formation of 53 Double-crested Cormorants migrating high overhead and a 3rd year Bald Eagle. Waterfowl included 26 Northern Shovelers. (There had been 60 Northern Shovelers at Schoolhouse Pond yesterday (10/27) durirng my lunchtime walk). Passerines included Eastern Bluebirds, increasing numbers of White-throated Sparrows, a Golden-crowned Kinglet, a flock of 12 Cedar Waxwings, and several Yellow-rumped Warblers.
