I birded the spray fields at North Branch this morning. Highlights
were an AMERICAN WOODCOCK that flushed as I walked back, a LINCOLN'S
SPARROW and at least 1 TENNESSEE WARBLER (I saw it three times but the
third time was pretty far away (about 100 yards away ?). It was like
an immature. I have seen other reports recently including the one from
Jim Wilkinson. This is not a bird I remember seeing this late so it
was sort of a thrill. There were also at least 3 different Western
PALM WARBLERS. I also had a House Wren, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Brown
Creeper, and the usual suite of Sparrows found there including
White-Crowned Sparrows. Much of the habitat there has been plowed or
mowed but they left a few good patches alone.
