After six visits in as many weeks, I finally found a Vesper Sparrow at
Irvine Nature Center! Let loose the pigeons! With the arrival of the three
Fox Sparrow I had a 10 sparrow walk. I may have missed White-crowned Sparrow
(WCSP) because a Virginia Rail (VIRA) called spontaneously from the marsh as
I approached the WCSP spot from last week. I did not recognize the VIRA call
so I spend 15 minutes frozen in place in the east end of marsh. I managed
record some other vocalizations and see the adult bird for a couple of
seconds.

Other highlights included a Sharp-shinned Hawk harassing a hunting female
Northern Harrier, a yellow Palm Warbler a 4 flyover American Pipits.
