I birded St. George's Island and Piney Point for a few hours this morning. The birds weren't excellent, but there were a few notables. At St George's I had quite a few Swamp Sparrows, as well as Yellow-rumped, Pine, Yellowthroat, and a very cooperative first winter Cape May Warbler. I also had a late Osprey and two FOS Common Loons at the recreation area by the bridge. At Piney Point, in addition to numerous gulls, cormorants, and pelicans, I had Swamp, Chipping and White-throated Sparrows, Ruby-crowned Kinglet and Eastern Phoebe.
