Driving home from morning meetings in Prince Frederick, I took the 'scenic' route. I was hoping to scope one of Les' BROWN PELICANS from Herrington Harbor. I think I had one flying beyond the pound nets, but the bird was too low, too distant and too hazy to be 100% certain.
There was one Common Loon floating on the bay.
And in that 'goose field' just N of the Herrington Harbor marina, a lone SNOW GOOSE was keeping company with the 55 or so CAGO's.
