Hi Everyone,
 
Today I found 4 first of season Buffleheads at McMillan reservoir (2 males/2 females).  It's interesting that Steve Hersey also had Buffleheads at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens today.  
 
It made me wonder if they've been seen all over the region, and surprisingly these seem to be virtually the first.  I thought I'd see scattered records over the month of October, but still very few, and all over the last 7 days.   Most surprising, is the lack of any Buffleheads showing up (at least in eBird) on the eastern end of the eastern shore.  I'd think some early birds would be missed inland, but end up early in coastal marshes.
