I too hope that MDOSPREY does not lose the attention of those who use
Twitter, because you generally get substantially more information from a
MDOSPREY posting. However, those of us who are not familiar with
Twitter need not worry about hearing nothing at all. Put a bookmark to
<http://twitter.com/#!/MDrarebirdalert> in your browser. If you use a
tabbed browser, leave that page open in a tab. You will get all the Md
rare bird twitters, and they generally get out very quickly. You don't
have to join twitter to access the page directly, although there will be
a BIG invitation to sign up at the top of the window. I have been
following this page off and on since Dan Haas announced the twitter
set-up, and it gives impressively prompt and compact information.
Moreover, anywhere I can access my Email to get MDOSPREY I can also get
to that page. I'm finding that Twitter makes a nice supplement to
listserves, even though I don't especially want to set up a cell phone
for its use.
