This evening I went down to my bucket to see if I could improve on the 50 species I had counted earlier in the day.  I was surprised and delighted to find 8 female Black Scoters in a raft out in Jug Bay (AA or PG Co. -- anyone's guess).  This was a long-awaited addition to my "bucket list".  I've managed White-winged and Surf in the past, but never Black.  A few minutes later I heard the distinctive chip of a Black-throated Blue Warbler.  After much pishing, it still hadn't appeared (they usually respond readily), but then a few minutes later I heard a half-baked attempt at a BTBW song!  My first Nov. BTBW ever.  Ended the day with 55 species, not my best Nov. day, but a good one anyway.
