Hey everyone,

Here is the first ebird list of a day spent birding in Talbot County
with Jared Satchell, Dan Small, and John Hubbel.

Comments:     Cold and breezy this morning on Tilghman Island.  Lots
of birds flying up and down the bay with many ducks and gannets noted.
 There was a good raptor flight as well.  With Jared Satchell, Dan
Small, and John Hubbel.
56 species (+2 other taxa)

Snow Goose  15     Uncommon to find a flock near the bay.  The flock
was 18 birds.  The other three birds were CANG.
Canada Goose  61     three birds flying with a flock of 15 SNGO.
Greater Scaup  1     One bird observed flying up the bay.
Greater/Lesser Scaup  6
Surf Scoter  4
White-winged Scoter  6     A flock of five birds observed flying up
the bay and one bird viewed flying down the bay in a group of SUSC.
White-wing patches easily seen.
Surf/Black Scoter  22     many dark winged scoters flying in the
middle of the bay
Long-tailed Duck  3
Bufflehead  5     one flock flying south down the bay
Common Loon  4
Northern Gannet  10     All adult birds.
Double-crested Cormorant  266     Many sitting on the fish net poles.
Great Cormorant  1     First spotted by Dan Small.  We were able to
observe the bird sitting on a fish net with other DCCO.  Large size
and white on the chin.
Brown Pelican  12     Not an unusual number
Turkey Vulture  62     Large kettle formed over the point.  Also in
the kettle were RTHA, SSHA, COHA, and RSHA.
Bald Eagle  2
Sharp-shinned Hawk  6
Cooper's Hawk  2
Red-shouldered Hawk  4     Four birds viewed in a kettle of vultures
allowing great prolonged looks.  My high count for the county.  Orange
bellies and translucent areas in along wingtips .
Red-tailed Hawk  5
Peregrine Falcon  1
Killdeer  7     One flock of seven birds flying north over the point,
vocalizing.
Laughing Gull  9
Ring-billed Gull  26
Great Black-backed Gull  73
Forster's Tern  151     147 counted while sitting on the fish nets.
Belted Kingfisher  1     sitting on a telephone wire.
Eastern Phoebe  1
American Crow  3
Tree Swallow  3
Carolina Chickadee  8
Tufted Titmouse  1
Brown-headed Nuthatch  6
Brown Creeper  1
Carolina Wren  7
Winter Wren  1     calling
Golden-crowned Kinglet  4
Ruby-crowned Kinglet  14
Eastern Bluebird  3
Hermit Thrush  2
American Robin  36
Northern Mockingbird  1

American Pipit  1     flyover
Cedar Waxwing  20
Palm Warbler (Yellow)  1     Viewed feeding in the myrtle bushes along
the shore.

Dark-eyed Junco (Slate-colored)  9

Red-winged Blackbird  23     a few small flocks flying overhead
